The Mystic & Boobies.

The other day, I woke up nice and early so I would have time to 'do something' before work.
It feels like all I ever do is work, and I want to do things.

That morning, I decided to take my 'do something' time, to draw.
Which gave way to this.
I think she's kind of awesome.

I have a question for you guys, and it's going to sound a bit silly.

How do you feel about breasts in drawings and art?

I have this thing. It's not explainable, but I love breasts in art. I love drawing boobies, and including boobs in my art. I don't like drawing clothes on my people, there's something so fascinating about the human body to me. And the more I write out the word 'boob' the more it sounds silly so I'm going to stick to the word breasts for now.

I want to share some more of my artwork on here and I am not going to leave off the pieces that have nudity because, though I obviously do care what you guys think and what you guys want to see, I want to stay true to myself here on the blog, and, well, I like to draw breasts. And I like to draw. So you might see some illustrated breasts up in here in the future, I hope you don't mind!

Another one of my favourite blogging ladies, Carly, did a Vlog where she answered readers' questions.

Of course I took it upon myself to ask her some silly ones. Which she answered awesomely. Props to you Carly ;) So I was inspired to ask you guys for questions to do one of my own!
You totally want that crazy girl in that picture to answer you questions right?
Sounds like it'll be a totally sane, boring, logical time right?
Just don't ask about my moustache.
Sensitive topic guys.

But for realsies, please ask me questions, anything serious or silly or otherwise is totally welcome - ask anything you want and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities! Just leave them in a comment below!

Also, I'm currently working on a new blog design. I'm so up and down about my designs I know, but I think this one I'm making is really ME for once. I mean I thought flowers and stuff were me. And they are. But not in this way. I don't know. Don't listen to me. Except when I say that I'm excited about my new layout. :)

Film Photos.

I have always. ALWAYS. Been a huge fan of film photography. I took a course in highschool for black and white photography where we used a dark room and developed our own photos, learned to dodge and burn and play around with them, and it really struck a chord within me. No matter how shitty a day I was having, once I got into the dark room I lost myself in the dim lights and little individual cubicles we had for exposing our photos. Some of my most fond memories are of my now very best friends sneaking up on me in the dark, goofing around trying to fit as many people into the revolving door to get into the room, eating skittles even though we're totally not supposed to. Actually - we weren't allowed to do any of that stuff. But it was fun anyway.

So I have all of this as well as a simple adoration for the quality of film photos to back up my love for them! I was inspired by Melissa from The 25th Hour (who is one of my longest term blogger buddies, who just got back into blogging! YAY!) to post some of my shots after she posted some of hers here!

These first few are from a disposable camera I brought with me to Belgium! That's my mommy right there! She takes mostly all of my outfit pics. She's the best.

Just a little bit of shopping.

Being a goof with street art.

These next were taken with my Holga camera while out canoeing for my best friend's birthday! Kami - she's actually my other outfit photo photographer ;)

(Kami and her boyfriend Alex, both are the sweetest two people!)

Clearly I took lots of photos of them being all cute and couple-y in their kayak. But I'll leave it at that for now ;)

Do you guys ever use disposables or film cameras? I seriously love to, the pictures always turn out to be my favourites! But it's also expensive. I think I will try and use at leeeaaaaaaaaast two more this summer though!!

A Hard Working Kind of Lately

Life has been work work work lately, plus a few little happy memories made along the way, squished in to whatever free time I have!

So here are some pictures I've taken lately. This past week, my kitty Milly has been especially adorable and gorgeous. She's at my moms house so I don't take many pics of her or see her much but she's a sweetie pie.

This. Is happiness.

This picture has zero editing, LOOK at her eyes. So stunning.

I also bought myself a little flower-y plant for my apartment! MY FIRST PLANT GUYS. I am gonna bring it with me when I move out (in 16 days? EEEEE!)

Then yesterday I had a day off so my friend Tiffany came over, and I made dinner while we spoke of our lives and giggled about boys and laughed about memories.  Tiffany's the kind of girl that I can have a sleepover with and we can talk about everything and anything until we get so sleepy that the conversation ends with me saying I feel like I am caramel. This story may or may not be a true story....

Then we had an impromptu photoshoot that actually turned out brilliantly!

This girl is impossibly photogenic.

And then there's me..... but whatever. Saving some of the better pics for an outfit post that I'm going to use them as!

The rest of my free time has been spent reading Perks of Being a Wallflower, knitting, going to karaoke and dinner with friends, and I'm actually off to eat chinese food and see a movie with my friends tonight.

Life's good, even when I spend more hours at work than I do at home. (Or so it feels like)

First Attempt at Embroidery

A few weeks ago I found some fantastically tacky doilies for sale at Value Village, and I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with them when I got them - do some embroideries! One problem though - I've never actually tried embroidery before, no more than for half assed lettering on camp hats or camp tshirts anyway. So I embarked on my very first TRUE embroidery journey.

I made a piece dedicated to my grand father and things that make me think of him - chickadees and honeysuckles, I thought they made a lovely image together too. The above photo is a bit blurry (yknow when your camera takes two pictures, one blurry and one crisp, and you accidentally delete the crisp one instead of the blurry? ITS ANNOYING RIGHT?)

You can see the details a little more here!
I'm pretty proud of myself for the first time embroidering, I mean there are parts of the fabric that are being pulled and stretched funny, and there are stitches overlapping and I ran out of room for the word 'Remember', but you know what? I poured my heart into this and I'm so happy with the outcome. I'm thinking of putting in a fabric backing (to hide the horrid back of the piece... sheesh I have a lot to learn!), and to add some opacity to the background, and then hanging it with a ribbon tied in a bow at the  tightening part of the loop. And then I'm going to put it in my room in my new apartment! I move in August 1st guys..... how crazy is that? I'm so excited.

Hope you've all been having lovely weeks thus far! I work the absolute rest of the week, non stop. Yippee yay! But at least that means I get $$$ right? And I wouldn't be able to craft and make things if I didnt have $$ for supplies right? So it all works out in the end, right? ;)

Canada Day via Instagram

Before I jump into this post, I would like to thank everyone who left a comment on my first 'A Thought or Two" post. I really appreciate all the feedback, the contributions of your own stories and opinions, and support. It made my heart smile :) I didn't know how everyone would react to such a word-y post but apparently it worked!? So THANK YOU readers, you rock my socks. :)

Soooo I love Canada day, and Canada, and dressing up. So July 1st is really a great fun occasion for me ;) I DIYed this maple leaf top the morning of, pulled out some red skinny jeans I was going to give away and wore some good ol' plaid. Because why not go all out?

Oh yea, I also did my nails. But I had no white nail polish, so I settled on using a very pale purple toned  polish.

I then went to my cousin's band's rehearsal. Can we just talk about how much his band rocks? I actually love them, if you like classic rock type music then you'd love their stuff - you can check them out on facebook search "Running Violet" or check them out HERE! If not for me, check them out for yourself, because you'll love them. ;) They've played a lot around Toronto and I believe are playing in Montreal in Sept/Oct!

Tiffany and I ! She brought me all sorts of Canada day swag including bracelets and face paint (that we forgot to use, booo!) She's the sweetest.

My rock star cuz, Ben!

A whole lot of firework pictures....

TTC selfies, a tradition.

And a very blurry shot of the gang at the beach to watch the fireworks! It was a really fun night, with lots of really great company and new people to meet as well as old. Definitely a Canada day to remember!

Hope all my fellow Canadians had a great Canada day as well, AND Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends! Have a good one ;)
